FabriWIN
Course Itinerary
The FabriWIN training class is a one-week course that includes instruction in the use of Metalsoft’s CAD/CAM software. The interactive class environment offers new users the opportunity to learn, ask questions and exchange information with other class members from across the country. Metalsoft realizes that many of you design parts in other software so the first four days of the class cover the CAM side of FabriWIN. Instruction on the design portion (CAD) of FabriWIN takes place on Friday. The itinerary is as follows: Monday 9:00am – 5:00pm The course begins
by discussing the various default settings in FabriWIN. Parts and
special tools will be imported as DXF and IGS files. A tool
inventory will be create, along with a standard turret setup. A
general overview of some CAD commands and coordinate input follows.
Tuesday 8:00am – 5:00pm Day 2 begins
instruction on the CAM section of FabriWIN. The CAM section
provides the user a variety of ways to place parts on a sheet for
manufacturing on a punching, cutting, or combination machine.
After a general overview of setting up the sheets, instruction begins
on tool assignment.
Wednesday 8:00am – 5:00pm Day 3 continues
the CAM section for punching machines.
Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm Day 4 concludes
CAM for punching and begins instruction on cutting. There is a half of
a day spent on training for punching machines and half of a day spent
on cutting and combination machines.
Friday 8:00am – 3:00pm Day 5 completes
FabriWIN training. Machine Talk and Reverse Engineering are discussed.
The presentation concludes at approximately 3:00pm Friday. The remaining time can be used for review and questions. Please note that Predator is not covered in class. THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE ATTENDING CLASS • This class is designed to train customers on how to use our software only and is not machine specific. • This class is not a windows or sheet metal class. Attendees are expected to have basic computer and windows skills, i.e. double clicking with the mouse, minimizing and maximizing windows, etc. and should be familiar with the keyboard in order to type in file names for the parts and sheet. Standard sheet metal terms such as flanges and bend deductions should be familiar to the attendee (while this is not a strict requirement to a successful training experience, attendees should be aware that little time will be spent on these areas). • If your company has just purchased a new machine, it is recommended that the attendee be trained on the machine prior to taking our class, as all the material files are different and machine specific settings are not discussed in detail. If the attendee has prior knowledge of the machine, he/she will know what material file settings do. • If you plan on programming parts you can actually run on your specific machine, you must bring your tool inventory and machine on a disk. Otherwise the inventory and machine provided in the class will be used. Your specific driver will be provided in class, but tool inventory and machine setup used in class is generic. • All computers, training manuals, etc. are provided. However, if specific ergonomic devices such as special mouse pads with wrist supports are required, the attendee should provide such devices. • This class covers both punching and cutting. Drawing is covered in class, attendees should understand that they will get the exposure and that proficiency is based on work done outside of the class. • This class is focused on our latest version of software. If you are not currently using at least version 11.0, please contact Upgrade Sales at 714-549-0112 to find out what version you are on and what the cost would be to become current. Many features taught in this class may not exist in earlier versions. LodgingChicago Training Class
