WARNING: Do not attempt to install this service pack on FabriWIN versions prior to 7.0. This service pack will only work with version 7.0 or later. Installing this service pack on older versions will damage the copy of FabriWIN installed on your system.

Installation instructions:

  1. Click here to download service pack 4 for FabriWIN 7.01.

  2. When the File Download dialog box opens, select Save this file to disk and click OK. The Save As dialog box opens.

  3. Click on the Save button. The fw701sp4.zip is saved to your Windows Desktop by default.

  4. To uncompress this file, you can use the WinZip shareware utility. You can go to the CNET Download web site here to obtain the latest copy of WinZip.

  5. Uncompress the archive file and save the service release Cadcam.exe (and any other files in the .zip file) to a temporary folder. Do not save the service release file to your default CAD/CAM directory. You do not want to overwrite the original cadcam.exe file.

  6. Launch the Windows Explorer and navigate to the C:\FabriWIN folder or your default CAD/CAM system folder.

  7. Locate the cadcam.exe file. Click the file to select (highlight) it.

  8. Select File to Rename. You can now edit the file name. Type cadcam-old.exe and press <Enter> to rename the file. Click Yes when Windows prompts you to confirm.

  9. Copy the service release cadcam.exe (and any other files in the .zip file) into the C:\FabriWIN folder or your default CAD/CAM System folder.

You have completed the service pack upgrade. You can now run the CAD/CAM System application. If you have any questions or encounter any problems, please contact the FabriWIN technical support staff.

Bugs Fixed in Service Pack 4

  • No subroutines in the NC code for the outside boundary of a part for a punching machine.

  • Datum-dimensioning print problem where the text would be rotated 90.

  • Cursor-step snap problem where the cursor would jump back to the originally-snapped object when using the step function.

  • Parts made using AutoCAD R14 or 2000 with polyline boundaries now import correctly into FabriWIN.

  • Fixes relating to G-code Nesting:

    • The 8 character limitation of names in. GMT files has been fixed.

    • The Single-D angles are now adjusted 180.Leave or set the radius value to zero.

    • The Triangle X and Y values are switched and it was rotated 90?CCW.

    • For Square tools, we removed the value on the "Y" size, this field is always zero on a square tool.

    • Pre-punch tool being passed twice to the .GMT file.

    • The angle of a "round" tool is now always set to zero.

    • Pre-punch hits were output incorrectly if the part was offset (not on 0,0) on the sheet.
